My first oil painting

My first painting1 assignment for the semester. I had worked with acrylics just a little bit in the past but I had never worked with oil paints (and to be honest I am not very good at painting at all >.>
But I am really excited about the class and I am learning a lot of good stuff, my teacher Anne Banas is amazing! I'll be taking more pictures of my paintings and other art and sill be posting them up soon hopefully!

Assignment: black and white still life

I thought that the textures of some of the stuff was hard to capture and plus my camera kinda blurred everything >.> Also it was hard to get an awesome white value unless it was against the black (we had to mix our own black) because when I would straight white onto the canvas I would get it mixed with the lighter gray someone. The fabric was my favorite to work with
